SALINAS has been working across Latin America for more than twenty years. Projects in Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Bolivia built up a way of understanding territory: architecture as a response to place, not an imposition upon it.
During that time, Uruguay kept appearing — as a destination, as a reference, as a landscape that returned to the conversation. The Atlantic coast, the Maldonado shoreline, José Ignacio. A geography that gained its own weight in the studio's work.
Opening the office in Punta del Este, in the Punta View building, is not a beginning but a consolidation. It is the result of years of projects in the region and a conviction: that working well in a place means being present in it — understanding its regulations, its available materials, its construction timelines, its climate.
From Punta del Este we now run all our projects on the Uruguayan coast — houses, residential developments, ephemeral installations — with the same lens we brought to Lima, Bogotá and Buenos Aires: attention to place, precision in materials, human scale.
